Emerging evidence reveals that components of the extracellular matrix can directly regulate inflammatory processes. Now, researchers have identified a role for the matrix component biglycan in the pathogenesis of lupus nephritis through its ability to induce expression of the B cell chemoattractant CXC-chemokine ligand 13 (CXCL13).References
